Spring 2015 is the third Walmart Beauty Box (this box was launched in Fall 2014), and I have received all 3 boxes. The Winter 2014 box suffered from some serious shipping issues, with many people (including myself) not receiving boxes until after Christmas, though they were billed before Thanksgiving. This was compounded with sub-par customer service from the company managing the beauty box (not Walmart, they go through a 3rd party). I was very lucky that I managed to get in touch with one of the few "good guys" at Brandshare (the company running this box). When I mentioned I had never gotten a tracking number, and he couldn't find the number in their system, he Fedex'd me a brand new box free of charge (And a few days later my original box hobbled in, no idea how they lost the tracking # in their system!)
The shipping issues didn't occur in Spring, and because of the cost it is really hard to complain if it takes a few weeks for the box to get to you. I was billed at the beginning of March, had a shipping notice within a week of being billed, and the box started moving about a week after that.
There aren't any referral links for this box, but if you would like to sign up you can find this box at: https://beautybox.walmart.com/
Opening the Box:
I really love the size of this box. I don't know why I really like the size, but it is basically a perfectly sized box. I use one of them to store some of my eyeshadow pallets. I will say, upon opening this box I was very impressed by the volume of the contents! Let's dive in, shall we?
Samples and Full size items:
Left to right we have:- Lady Gaga "Fame" 1.2 ml sample. This is an interesting perfume as the liquid is black until sprayed. Magic of chemistry, it becomes clear when not in the bottle. Fun concept, kind of standard "perfume" scent.
- Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair & Moisturize shampoo and conditioner. Very light scent, and I am always excited to try new shampoos and conditioners for my dry hair. It seems silly, but I also really like these bottles because they are refillable, so even if I don't love the product, I can clean the bottles out and use them for travel sized versions of my favorite products.
- Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara in black. Oh yay, another mascara (she says sarcastically). I will go ahead and put this in my "I will never have to buy mascara again" pile to remain unopened until needed. If you're a follower of this blog and want a mascara, let me know, I'm sure we can come to agreeable terms.
- Dove go fresh body wash in mandarin & tiare flower scent. This is my favorite brand of body wash. I currently use the pomegranate scented one. I will admit, here and now, that when I go to buy bodywash I am that person that stands in the aisle and smells every. single. bottle. until I find the scent I like best. I am a sucker for a good citrus scent, and this would probably be my choice for purchase if I had gone the stand-and-smell method. I'm excited for this one!
- Neutrogena Healthy Skin boosters Facial cleanser with white tea & vitamin E. I love Neutrogena products and will add this to my "skincare samples to try" pile (This pile is pretty big because I got a ton of free samples in January during a Sephora promotion).
Foil pack samples:
Everyone's favorite things! Foil packets! I have a Nivea in-shower body wash, Garnier Ultra-lift miracle sleeping cream, and Maybelline Fit Me matte & poreless foundation. I've wanted to try the Nivea (and now have 2 sample packs of it) so I will squeeze the two packets into a small squeeze bottle I have for these purposes and give it a try. The other 2 I'll give a quick try, but I'm pretty settled on my foundation these days, and I can't be bothered with a nighttime beauty routine ;)
Coupons:
A couple of discounts on the Schwarzkopf line of hair color and hair care products, a L'oreal infallable coupon and a covergirl coupon. The two Schwarzkopf coupons are good through the end of the year, so I might end up actually using them. The covergirl is for a line I have tried and don't like (so odds are I'll drop this coupon off near the product during my next shopping trip for a lucky customer to get). The L'oreal looks interesting though, so I might use that.
